Paquetá

Paquetá was founded in 1945 in Sapiranga, state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Initially it was a small shoe factory. Today the company is composed of many businesses: shoe factory, shoe retail, own brands such as Paquetá Esportes, Esposende, Dumond and Capodarte that make the business mix of the organization. It has four business units: industry, brands, retail, and services and has operations in 18 countries.

OBJECTIVE

The organization requested our methodology and expertise to help them in the elaboration of a global strategic planning of information technology aiming to set out targets and objectives employing IT to get a better understanding of how the area could help improving the processes and operations of Paquetá, optimizing flows, communicating information, and reducing costs.

PROJECT

With the elaboration of standardization of the criteria for absorption of external resources, it was possible to decentralize the data processing center and the figure of the business analyst with domain of processes and problems faced by the other collaborators. We executed the formalization of the work procedures and the definition of the documentation standards that were adopted by all the departments of IT and the clear identification of the interfaces among the many systems and the elaboration of the work schedules to the activities that are related to the company’s strategic planning.

RESULTS

At the end of the project, Paquetá obtained the desired functional organization of the systems area with the organization of the workflow, priorities and rules, that allowed among other things, the structuring of the relation with suppliers, the generation of a systematic for the control of productivity, automation of the stores belonging to the group, and the creation of a committee of IT to equalize technologies and processes adopted through a better founded analysis of processes and indicators.
